A Long Story is a self contained body of work composed of estisol photo transfer on muslin. These three columns of material stand at roughly eye level and confront the viewer with a sense of nostalgia that, while clearly rooted in the personal, is also universally understood. Much like memories themselves these photographs disintegrate, becoming tangled and unintelligible as the strands of muslin fall to the floor. The emotional labour required to unpack the familial baggage represented by these images is reflected in the time consuming process of making, requiring the tedious removal of the weft strands from over 6ft of fabric.
